Pass the bottle

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11965237/ - this is bullshit. This is the kind of shit that almost makes me want to cheer for Osama, and it is in Texas no less. Police in San Antonio and Dallas have started "pre-empted strikes" on drunks. They are sending undercover agents into bars to arrest people that are drunk. They can do this legally, because whether you are driving or not and even if you are in a bar, it is drunk in public. What would your reaction be if you were having a night out with friends and getting drunk at a bar, then all of a sudden some fucknut with a badge is arresting you? I do not think that there is anyone that I work with that this could not happen to, except maybe shane. Brent better watch out. Do you agree with what they are doing? All I have to say is that I hope these officers get hit by a drunk driver.

Another thing worth discussing, since some of you are mothers.... In Washington D.C. a man forgot his 7 month old daughter in the car, because he was trying to catch a train. He didn't realize it until he was at his destination. Firefighters were called by people who found the child locked in the car. The girl was returned to her mother. Child Protective Services said that they do not believe the child was intentionally left in the car. I brought this up, because it has a vote in this article. The question is "Does the father deserve to be punished for leaving his baby daughter in the car as he raced to catch his train?" There are almost 30,000 votes and "No" has 51%. What do you think? I personally think it was just an accident, and the father must me mortified. Here's the article, go vote for yourself. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11982453/
*edit*
I am writing this at almost 2am, and I have been here since 3pm. So this entire damn post might not make sense and that also goes for comments I left on various blogs. So I do not need spelling and grammar hints, This would be better if someone like Debbie H. would show up to work her shift. Just kidding Debbie, thanks for being a slacker and letting me steal your hours.

Holy shit I am bored. I need to quit my job and be a stay at home husband. Im gonna leave early tonight so I can go watch a movie, have lots of sex with my wife and/or girlfriend, and sleep all fucking day tommorrow. I plan on getting shitfaced drunk tommorrow night after class, and perhaps play a little poker or raquetball. 2hrs and 13 minutes til I can leave... So I was telling brenda that they should fire the fat smelly security guard that works here and hire two cute young female guards, preferrably with bi-sexual tendacies.... wouldn't that be great. We should write a letter to the security company.

Busting people in bars for being drunk? That's the dumbest shit I've ever heard. How is it legal to open a bar then? Authorities say, "Yes you can open a bar but you can't let people get drunk." WTF! This makes absolutely no sense to me. The drunk in public law makes sense but I really didn't think it applied to bars. That's their only purpose. So much for my plans on opening "Jr's Mexican Pub."

And about the guy leaving the baby in the car, I think that it's hard to determine whether that guy left his baby in the car intentionally or not. Just because the article says he was terrified and embarrassed doesn't convince me it was an accident. I personally can't see how ANYONE could forget a child, their own child, in a car. Never know though. Some people just don't think. ~JR~

You have to wonder, though, how drunk would you actually have to BE in order to get arrested? I mean...isn't practically EVERYONE in a bar a little drunk? Are they just arresting the falling down, can't stop vomiting, about to pass out drunks? And what is the level of crime for public intoxication? Is it a misdeamenor? Or a felony? Because for me personally, when I used to go to the bar I always had a sober person to drive me home. So I don't think I deserved to be arrested at all....I mean unless I were to actually DO something stupid like walk out into traffic, which I never did. You can't arrest people on the presumption that they will do something stupid while drunk. That's crazy.

And the man who left his baby in the car? I can't imagine HOW that would happen, but regardless, he should be THANKING GOD that baby is still alive. Or whatever you hold holy.

I would have to consider my penis holy. Seriously, you could not imagine living without god, I could not imagine life without my penis. I love my penis. Anyway, I really could understand how the guy would be so focused that he forgot about his child... And if think you would never forget, you are a liar.

Ohh, how can that last? People must revolt. I don't even drink, and that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Being in a bar does not exempt one from the law of public drunkenness? Of course it does.

It surprises me that this is occurring in Texas. What's going on with the laws lately? Now they're supposedly cracking down on bars in California, saying underage people like the Olsen twins, Mischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan, and other regular clubhopping Hollywooders cannot enter if they're under 21 no matter how famous they are. I can understand if you support that, but I say it's an American tradition - if you're in LA or NYC and you're famous, the world is your oyster. I just don't understand what's going on.

I think the undercover thing to arrest drunk people in bars could be a cover up. I know an officer that says it could be they actually have a specific group of people that they have no other way to arrest them other than to get them for being drunk in public. they could be crack dealers or something. I doubt that we'll see any of that shit up here in Amarillo. What they SHOULD do is go bust all those retarded asshole 19 year olds that are drinking at the bars and then crying to the police when they get their ass kicked for starting shit... that is a regular problem at Midnight Rope a Hoe.
And the guy forgetting his 7 MONTH old? I'm an absent minded biatch and the worst I've ever done is forget to buckle my kid in. If I would have gotten pulled over and the cop gave me a ticket for not buckling my kid in, it doesn't matter how fucking sorry I am... my kid wasn't buckled in and it's MY responsibility to make sure that he is. The fact that he's sorry and embarrassed doesn't mean that he didn't commit abandonment. His dumb ass endangered his own child, and just because he's sorry or embarrassed or what the fuck ever, doesn't mean that he didn't do something stupid. If I could get off a misdemeanor charge if I said I was sorry and embarrassed, then I would do it. That's like those drunk drivers that are "sorry" getting away with their DUI's as long as they didn't kill someone. That father should get a slap on the wrist for being a moron.

Well, this has angered some of you mothers, but I still hold to the fact that I can understand this happening. Deep down you know you could forget to. Its a seven month old child, not to interesting for it to be on your mind if it is silent. Sam posted the question on pregnancy weekly and most of those mothers could understand that it is possible, and most of them do not think the guy should be punished.

i don't think he should be punished...i leave my son in the car all the time. he's in the car right now as we speak. it's no big deal...as long as he's strapped in the carseat, he won't mess with the steering wheel and what not. people are so dramatic...

sure does

Breastfeeding while you drive? You'll have to be careful once the kid gets teeth, just tapping your breaks could be deadly.

OK I had to comment on this one, FYI getting busted in bars for being drunk is no new thing, at least not for Amarillo. I worked in a local bar for several years and it was common practice for TABC and the local law enforcement officers to come in and arrest anyone that was staggering or nodding off, I have also seen them take people out of the passenger seats of cars with a sober driver and put them on the hood of the car to cuff them and off to jail they would go, so those of you who think you are safe because you have a "designated driver" beware, you aren't. It all seemed to depend on how bored the cops were, if they were having a busy night people in bars were relatively safe but if they were bored, drinkers beware, it is all fun and games to them, something to fill their time and they don't do it undercover, they bow up with their badges and guns and act like the bullies that most of them are, out to pick on people that are having fun because they are having to work on Saturday night. These same cops would be the ones being escorted out of the same bar and put into a cab the next weekend because they were too drunk to be allowed to get into their cars, and most of them would pay the cab driver to take them to their car and give them their keys back so they could drive home, double standard or just plain fucked up? You decide.....
